It's Been A Minute
Here's why + some fun updates.
Growing a brand while disrupting capitalism can feel like quite the paradox. Let me help you bridge that gap. Paid subscribers get access to a year-long library of weekly content prompts, plus bimonthly workshops designed to help you show up online with clarity, consistency, and meaningful impact. You can do this, and I’d love to support you.
Dear reader,
It’s been a minute.
If you’re a paid subscriber, you’ve been getting my weekly content prompts, which just came to a close after #52, which completes a year’s worth.
(Don’t worry, they will re-emerge in a new and exciting form come the New Year. More on that in December.)
Still, I haven’t written a full-ass free post since September.
And I have good reasons, one of which was health-related, and not something I’ll share publicly. (I’m okay now, but it was a doozy.)
The other is quite joyful.
After almost three incredible years of love, fun, adventure, and friendship, my wonderful partner Lewis and I decided to tie the knot in a tiny ceremony with a few close friends.
I am currently writing to you from a plane en route to our honeymoon in Japan, where my business began almost exactly six years ago.
From June 2019 to March 2020, I lived in a tiny shoebox apartment in Yokohama, shaping my business in the mornings, teaching English to Japanese kids ages 2-17 in the evenings, and exploring the Tokyo and Kanagawa prefectures on the weekends.
Lewis visited Japan in 2018, before I got there and before we knew each other. We both love it so much.
This will be the second visit for both of us. I will take him to my old stomping grounds, he’ll show me his favorite spots, I’ll introduce him to my Japanese friends, and we will explore new places together.
My heart is alive with tenderness and exhilaration. I have longed to go back and I’m so thrilled to do it with him.
I’ll be off the grid until December 1, but in the meantime, I want to share December’s workshop with you.
Please join me for a special end-of-year edition of Content Strategy Cafe ❄️☕🌲
✨ THURSDAY, DECEMBER 4 | 10-11AM PACIFIC ✨
I don’t know about you, but my brain gets completely scrambled by the time November rolls around. Then, before I can blink, it’s January 1.
Taking a moment to map out what I want to create in the new year before the holiday chaos hits helps me set myself up for success, and it helps me give myself permission to fully relax for the last two weeks of December, knowing the plan is already waiting for me.
Let’s take a pause together and envision what we want for our business, brand, and body of work in 2026, so we can get ahead of things and set them aside for food and family time.
You can ask me literally anything. But here are some sample questions to get the wheels turning:
I’m torn between a few ideas for 2026; how do I choose what to center?
Is my message clear enough? How do I make it clearer?
Which platforms should I prioritize in 2026 based on my audience and personal capacity?
What should I look at when reviewing this year’s content performance? How do I make it better next year?
How do I know what my audience wants more of?
If I want to launch something in 2026, how and when do I start talking about it?
How do I create a 2026 content plan that matches my actual bandwidth?
What can I stop doing? What can I simplify?
The registration link is under the paywall below.
And, if you’re not yet a paid subscriber, this is a friendly reminder that by upgrading, you get access to this live Q&A and all past workshop replays.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving if you celebrate, and a wonderful rest of November either way.
xo,
Rebecca
